My name is Colin Caraher and I am a DSA approved driving instructor providing driving lessons for Stirling and its surrounding area. I'm an Irish guy (hence the driving school name) who moved over to Stirling a few years ago. As well as lessons for learner drivers, I offer training for the PassPlus scheme for newly qualified drivers, plus refresher and motorway lessons for full licence holders.

No two learner drivers are the same
That's why your learning plan will be tailored to suit your individual needs. I have a flexible approach to lessons and you can book 1 hour, 1.5 hour or 2 hour lessons to fit in with your commitments. My goal is not only to help you pass that all-important driving test, but more importantly that you become a safe driver for life.
Your lessons
With your first lesson you will receive your own progress card, updated at the end of each lesson so you can see your strengths and the areas to work on. Before your test we'll do some mock tests that mimic the real thing, so nothing comes as a surprise on the big day.
Pick-up & drop-off
I'll pick you up from wherever you are
Stirling, Bannockburn, Bridge of Allan, Cambusbarron and Dunblane and everywhere in between. Pick-up and drop-off time is notincluded in your lesson time, unlike some other driving schools, so you get more value for your money with Emerald Mile.

Colin is a great driving instructor. He is calm, patient, and makes you feel as comfortable as you can in driving in general, and in preparation for the test. He has an excellent knowledge of test routes around Stirling and the terminology used, so when the test did come up there were very few surprises. He actively wants his students to pass and get to a great level of driving, and is obviously passionate about this. Colin helped me iron out recurring mistakes through simple but highly effective exercises. He also provides a great chat throughout the lessons! I would highly recommend Emerald Mile to any learner driver around the Stirling area.

He will go over any part of your driving that you are struggling with until it's fixed for you, providing useful solutions. Felt very well prepared for my test thanks to Colin covering every aspect of being a safe and competent driver in great detail. No junctions, roundabouts or roads were a surprise to me thanks to Colin's knowledge of past and potential test routes.
Also, aside from the driving, Colin is a top guy, very friendly and always has a good bit of chat when you come into the car. Makes you feel very at ease and relaxed in the car from day one, which is really important too.
